Proficiency in Chinese
Understanding of Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) is not essential. All required courses and the majority of elective courses in the Global Communication Programme are taught in English. Some elective courses in the Journalism and Communication Programme which are open to students in the Global Communication Programme are taught in Cantonese or Mandarin.
English Language Requirement for Study Abroad
- IELTS: 6.5 and not less than 6.0 in each of the four components; or
- TOEFL: 88 overall, with at least 20 in Listening, 19 in Reading, 21 in Speaking and 23 in Writing; or
- HKDSE: Level 4 (overall), with at least 3 in each component in English Language.
